How Our Network Works
Who You Talk To
You talk to an independent provider in our network. That provider is a local business. It is not Stateincome Septic. The provider looks at your problem, explains the options, and gives you a quote.
What Happens on the Call
Here is the usual order:
1. First, you describe the symptom and your address. 2. Next, the provider asks a few questions about your system. 3. Then they explain what a visit may involve. 4. Last, they offer a time to come out or send a written quote.
Timing depends on the provider. Request a callback to check provider availability.
What to Ask a Provider
Use this list. Each item has a good answer and a warning sign.
- Are you licensed and insured? Good: they say yes and offer proof. Red flag: they dodge or say "don't worry about it."
- What is the likely cause? Good: a plain explanation, with a note that it may change after inspection. Red flag: a firm diagnosis with no look at the system.
- What are my options? Good: two or more, with trade-offs. Red flag: only one fix, and pressure to say yes now.
- Can I have the quote in writing? Good: itemized, with scope and price range. Red flag: a verbal number only.
- What could change the price? Good: clear examples, such as access, depth, or extra repairs. Red flag: "it depends" with nothing more.
- Do you pull permits if needed? Good: yes, and they explain who files. Red flag: "you won't need one," for a major repair.
You Are in Control
You can ask questions. You can get a second quote. You can say no. There is no obligation to hire anyone you talk to. Take notes, compare the written quotes, and choose calmly.
Be careful of anyone who asks for a large payment up front or refuses to put terms on paper.
